CUSTOM ICF FOUNDATION

Section 9.36 of the National Building Code (NBC) is changing the way foundations are being built with the requirement to now have continuous wall insulation to the floor has increased cost for building foundations.  With an ICF foundation, this is no longer a problem as it is done during the initial building of the foundation.  

Basement Foundation Construction and Excavation

  • Excavate area for foundation (Quote based on location and type of soil).

  • Install concrete footings as design drawings. 

  • Below grade walls will be Logix Insulated Concrete Forms (R25 value or greater total wall assembly) for energy efficiency.  Interior basement walls ready for wiring and gyprock.

  • Roughed in Radon pipe below slab.

  • 5’crawl space, 8’- 9’ wall height or total continuous footings to rafter construction.

  • Foundation waterproofing & drainage membrane installed as required. 

  • 4" (min.) drainage stone under floor.

  • R-10 continuous insulation under slab (if required/requested) 

  • 4" (min.) thick poured concrete basement floor with troweled finish. 

  • Weeping tile around perimeter covered with minimum 6” washed rock.

  • Foundation backfilled to rough grade with subsoil from excavation.

  • Exposed ICF covered from grade to underside of siding of home once built
